Petico Terms of Use
Effective date: 22 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Oleksandr Barchuk, Andrzeja Zauchy 6, 31-235 Kraków, Poland ("we", "us") about your use of the Petico app and service. By creating an account or using Petico you accept them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
We publish these terms in English, Ukrainian and Polish. If the versions differ, the English version prevails.
1. The service
Petico helps families look after their dogs and cats: feeding schedules and logs, walks, weight, health reminders, vet visits and their documents, food stock, expenses, and a map of walking zones with reviews from other users. It runs on iOS and Android.
Much of the app works offline and syncs when you are back online. Some features, such as the map and clinic search, work only online, and some location features are available only in certain countries.
2. Who can use Petico
You must be at least 13. Where local law sets a higher age for consenting to online services (up to 16 in the EU/EEA), you need a parent's or guardian's consent if you are below that age. By using Petico you confirm that you meet these conditions.
3. Your account
- You sign in with Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In or an email link. Keep access to that sign-in method secure; actions taken from your account are treated as yours.
- Keep your profile accurate. Other people you share pets with see your name and avatar.
- One active device. Your account is active on one device at a time. When you confirm signing in on a new device, the previous one is signed out and its local data is cleared, and any changes on it that have not yet synced are lost. To use Petico with other people, invite them with their own accounts.
4. Sharing pets with others
- The person who adds a pet is its owner. The owner decides who else gets access.
- An owner can invite co-owners (on the Family plan, up to 5 people across all of the owner's pets) and pet sitters (on a paid plan, one per pet, for a period the owner sets and with the access the owner chooses). Invitations are codes valid for 24 hours. Share them only with people you trust.
- Everyone with access to a pet sees the other people's names, avatars and roles, and what each of them did for the pet.
- Some actions, such as editing or deleting a pet's profile, belong to the owner only.
- If the owner deletes their account, each pet that has a co-owner passes to a co-owner, who becomes its new owner with its history. Pets without a co-owner are deleted.
- Anyone can leave a pet they were given access to.
5. Plans and subscriptions
- Plans. Petico has a free plan (shown as "Basic" in the app) and two paid plans, Personal and Family. The limits and features of each plan are shown in the app before you buy.
- Buying. Paid plans are sold only through Apple In-App Purchase and are charged to your Apple ID at the price shown in the App Store. Apple's terms also apply to the purchase. A subscription belongs to the Petico account that bought it and can be restored only on that account.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions are monthly or yearly and renew automatically until you cancel. Under Apple's rules, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid the next charge.
- Cancelling. Cancel in your Apple ID's subscription settings. Deleting the app or your Petico account does not cancel the subscription. After cancelling, you keep the paid plan until the end of the period you paid for. Once you delete your Petico account, its subscription cannot be moved to a new Petico account; cancel it in Apple's settings, and ask Apple for a refund if you want one.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. We cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases; request them from Apple.
- Payment problems. If a renewal fails, Apple may give a grace period during which your plan keeps working.
- When a paid plan ends, nothing is deleted. Everything above the free limits is frozen: still visible, but not usable until you subscribe again. For example, pets beyond the free limit (the oldest ones stay active), reminders beyond the free limit per pet, history older than 14 days, past vet visits and visit documents beyond the free limits, and access you gave to co-owners and pet sitters. Subscribing again restores everything as it was.
- Changes. We may change plans, limits and prices for future periods. Apple notifies you of price increases as its rules require.
6. Acceptable use
Do not:
- break the law or use Petico to harm people or animals;
- access other people's accounts or pets without permission, or try to bypass plan limits, the one-device rule or security measures;
- disrupt the service, overload it, or scrape it with automated tools;
- upload content you have no right to share, or malware.
The map. Map spots and reviews are public to all map users, with the author's first name and avatar. Reviews must reflect your own experience of the place. Do not post abuse, harassment, hate, threats, spam, advertising, other people's personal data, or false places. Anyone can report a spot or review; content reported by several different users is hidden automatically. You can block a user so you no longer see their spots and reviews.
We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
7. Your content
What you add to Petico (pet profiles, records, photos, documents, map spots and reviews) stays yours. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process, display and transmit it only to run and provide the service: for example, to sync it to your devices, show it to the people you share a pet with, and show your map spots and reviews to other map users. For map spots and reviews, this licence continues after you delete your account, when they stay on the map without your name or avatar. We do not use your content for advertising.
You are responsible for having the right to share what you upload.
8. Not veterinary advice
Petico is an organiser, not a vet. Reminders, weights, feeding schedules and other features help you keep track of care; they are not medical advice and do not replace a veterinarian. Notifications can be delayed or missed, so do not rely on them alone for medication or treatment. Clinic suggestions come from a third-party places service and map information comes from OpenStreetMap and other users; we do not check them. In an emergency, contact a vet immediately.
9. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep Petico available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, add or remove features. If we plan to shut the service down, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can.
10. Liability
To the extent the law allows:
- Petico is provided "as is" and "as available";
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data or lost profits;
- our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for Petico in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer, you keep the mandatory rights the law of your country gives you.
11. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Petico and delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. Remember to cancel any Apple subscription separately. Once you delete your Petico account, its subscription cannot be moved to a new Petico account; ask Apple for a refund if you want one.
We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if the law requires it. Where reasonable, we will tell you first and explain why.
12. Apple App Store
If you got Petico from the App Store: these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Petico or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and is not responsible for any claims relating to it, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, and intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Petico after that, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can delete your account.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Poland, including applicable European Union law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in its courts.
